C&M made a commitment to a Global Positioning System (GPS) in 1998 for construction stakeout. In 2005, C&M progressed with GPS to include site modeling and fully integrated machine control. This technology was first used in the site work for the Sarasota branch of Caterpillar dealer Ring Power Corporation. Today, C&M utilizes Trimble GPS on all of their site development work. GPS allows for pinpoint location of site features without grades stakes. Trimble units located on the blades of bulldozers and the buckets of excavators allow C&M to be precise in all of their work. The C&M fleet  currently maintains two Caterpillar D3 GPS Bulldozers, two Caterpillar D5 GPS Bulldozers, one GPS Caterpillar 345 Excavator, one GPS Caterpillar 330 Excavator, and one GPS Caterpillar 12H Road grader. C&M also staffs two GPS crews working both in the field and in the office for site modeling and site work. These technological advances that C&M has invested in allow them to be more proficient and precise with their heavy equipment work.
